Early-Career Travel Grant

Deadline 09/15/2019

Late-breaking deadline 10/30/2019

MANA Early-Career Travel Award recognizes early-career members who are within 10 years of their last degree and whose current metabolomics research displays a high level of distinction. This award is intended to support the MANA 2019 conference in Atlanta, GA, and attendance is required. Each award includes $500 and a matted certificate; only a limited number of awards will be given.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a member of MANA who is within 10 years of a terminal degree at the time of the conference and is a presenting author on a submitted abstract to the MANA 2019 conference.

Criteria for the award will include demonstration of academic excellence by the applicant and ratings of the applicant's submitted abstract and justification for the award. MANA will also seek a balance of support across research groups/institutions, awardee demographic diversity, and support for groups with significant financial need.

Applications should be submitted via the abstract submission portal.  There is a drop-down box where you can indicate that you would like to apply for this travel grant.  You will be asked to provide your current institution, your lab group or PI name, and a brief (750 300 words or less) justification for why you deserve the award, including how the award could uniquely enable you to attend MANA 2019 and any indications of your academic and professional excellence.
